Hi, I am Carol Beta your child's first grade teacher at SOCS Elementary. My website will be a resource for you to see what your child is working on in school. First grade is an exciting age we will study reading, math, earth sciences and art.
We will be going on two field trips this year. The first one will be in October to the Frosty's Ice Cream parlor where they make all their own ice cream. Yum! Our second field trip will be in the spring when we visit Maple Park National Forest. We will spend the day there, so check my website for details on what your child will need to bring and wear that day.
We also have a very colorful class pet. Her name is Harriet and she is a very colorful beta fish. My students love to feed her and take care of her. She makes a very artful addition to our class.
